Clash Magazine Analysis

The colours used in this magazine cover are dull and not noticeable this means that the title colour and the background colour are the same and it clashes that could be because of the magazine name. The colours of the main image are brighter and stand out on the background, I think they have done this because it is appealing and eye catching to grab the customer’s attention. The magazine has used one main image but has made it very interesting and creative to look at by adding the cut out pictures to the main image to make it look appealing and more exciting for the audience the look is also quite abstract looking. This is also a good idea because it’s not often that you see a magazine image like this. It’s got quite a quirky look about it. I don’t really like the style of this magazine because it has no text on it, it gives no impression of what it might be about as none of the images are of any known celebrities to me. The house style clashes but still looks good as the same time; this matches the name of the magazine. If I walked into the shop this magazine would draw my attention because of the busy colourful image on a plain dull background therefor this grabs my attention. Another feature that it has that draws my attention is the small amount of writing, this attracts me because it wouldn’t be appealing if it had paragraphs of text on the front and many people don’t like to read the magazine they prefer to look at the images. I would say that the target market is aimed at unisex over the age of 20. Another reason why I think this is because the text that is on the magazine cover is long words so young people wouldn’t understand or be able to read it. I don’t think this magazine is particularly noticeable, it might apply to someone who’s quite interested in abstract art as the cover is abstract like but other than that its quite bland and boring, there’s hardly any text on what the magazine is actually about as it’s not clear, therefor I’m not really a fan of this cover as I think there are much better magazine covers.
