Contents Page Analysis

The is the contents page for NME, they have placed the contents  page on the right hand corner away from all the other information , in its own place this makes the contents page look quite messy and crowded as there is a lot of information on one page. It also has a couple of images of band artists, the main image is just one big image of the band, which takes up a lot of the page itself. Which makes the readers think that main image is the main feature for that issue.  The page appeals to the audience because although they repeat the colours they use bold fonts and noticeable colours and images. The text is quite bland but this could have been done to make it less messy and tacky. The images that were used for this issue are artists that the readers would recognise and know who they would want to read about. The colours are kept fairly simplistic of black, white and red because it goes with the whole theme and genre of the magazine.
This is the contents page for Q magazine, it’s quite similar to NME magazine. The contents page itself is quite simple which although could be seen as boring it can also be seen as more appealing to a reader because not everything is squashed up and messy. The colours are almost exactly the same to the NME magazine as they use red black and white for the fonts. It’s has the main image on the right of the page which takes up the most of it which gives the reader the idea that they are the main story for the magazine, it only has one more image on the page and a lot more writing so it could appeal more to people who like to read more than they like to look at pictures. The colours are quite bland but are the type of colours that relate to a rock type magazine because they are rocky dark colours. Although the font is in mostly in bold it is quite small and not very bold or something that would make it stand out to the audience to read.
